We need cataloging standards for Destiny. I have put together a working Excel document that combines the previous standards that were put together for opening day collections. I have added non-print, equipment and circ type. It is definitely a working document. I looked for school library cataloging standards on the Internet and did not find much, especially for equipment. Most are aged.
Deb and I have talked about an equipment template. I will add that. We are also checking the Destiny catalog for the most used call numbers, i.e. equipment and non-print. The only designation I feel strongly about is "EQ" for equipment. Deb and I think that each piece of equipment must be separately cataloged at each site. Some folks are already adding equipment onto an existing record.
How about trying to work on this document from this "space.?"
I just tried to edit the Excel file from the "front page" and couldn't save it. I will try to find out the best way to edit it. Maybe Google docs is a better place to try this.Or if we stay with this I will just make changes and reload.
Okey dokey, this is Deb. I'm trying to reload the standards file with edits
